Blood Sewa ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use the Blood Sewa mobile application.
By using Blood Sewa, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you register and use Blood Sewa:
- Full name and phone number
- Email address (optional)
- Blood group and location (city, state, country)
- Age, weight, and last donation date
- Profile availability status
- Organization memberships and activity
- FCM token for push notifications
- Google account ID (if you sign in with Google)
3. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used to:
- Connect blood donors with recipients in need
- Send emergency blood request notifications to nearby donors
- Display your donor profile to people searching for blood
- Manage your organization memberships and announcements
- Send push notifications for blood requests and alerts
- Improve app performance and user experience
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Your information may be shared in the following limited circumstances:
- Your name, blood group, and location are visible to other app users when you are marked as "Available to Donate"
- Your phone number is visible to others unless you enable "Hide Phone Number"
- Emergency SOS alerts include your name, phone, blood group, and location to notify nearby donors
- Organization members can see your profile within the organization

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt — we never store plain text passwords
- Chat messages are not stored on our servers (relay-only system — deleted after delivery)
- SOS history is automatically deleted after 2 days
7. Data Retention
We retain your data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:
- All your personal information is permanently deleted
- Your blood request posts are removed
- Your donation history is erased
- You are removed from all organizations
- SOS history older than 2 days is automatically deleted regardless
8. Push Notifications
Blood Sewa uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send push notifications. These include:
- Emergency blood request alerts from nearby users
- Organization announcements from groups you have joined
- Blood post notifications for your area
You can disable notifications from your device settings at any time.
9. Third-Party Services
Blood Sewa uses the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google) — push notifications and authentication
- Google Sign-In — optional login method
- OpenStreetMap — map display in blood request details
Each of these services has their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.
10. Children's Privacy
Blood Sewa is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

You have the right to:
- Access your personal data (view your profile in the app)
- Update or correct your information (edit profile)
- Delete your account and all associated data permanently
- Opt out of notifications (device settings)
- Control your privacy settings within the app

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of Blood Sewa after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
