This Privacy Policy applies to the EduNest mobile app and related school management services. EduNest is used by schools and institutions to provide digital access to school information for parents, students, teachers, administrators, reception staff, super administrators, and transport teams.
Your school may have its own policies for student records and school operations. Where the school controls the data, the school is responsible for deciding what information is entered, updated, retained, or removed.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on your role and the features enabled by your school, EduNest may process the following information:
- Account details such as name, phone number, email address, user role, school, class, and linked student records.
- Student academic and school records such as attendance, homework, exam results, class test results, subjects, study material, syllabus, date sheets, leave requests, gatepass requests, PTM sessions, fees, and announcements.
- Uploaded content such as gallery images, homework attachments, announcements, documents, and school resources.
- Device and session information such as authentication tokens, refresh tokens, app settings, selected student, language preferences, and Firebase Cloud Messaging token for notifications.
- Location data when transport or van tracking features are enabled and permission is granted.
- Technical information needed to operate the service, including API requests, diagnostics, error logs, and security events.
3. How We Use Information
EduNest uses information to provide and maintain school workflows, including:
- Signing users in, restoring sessions, and applying role-based permissions.
- Showing attendance, homework, announcements, gallery, fees, results, PTM, transport, and other school modules.
- Sending school notifications such as homework, attendance, van, and announcement updates.
- Allowing authorized school staff to manage classes, users, students, fees, content, transport, and school settings.
- Improving reliability, security, upload handling, and app performance.
- Complying with legal, safety, school administration, and support obligations.
5. Security
EduNest uses practical security measures designed for school management systems, including authenticated API access, bearer tokens, refresh tokens, secure token storage where available, Firebase phone verification where enabled, and role-based access controls.
No internet-connected system is completely risk free. Users should keep passwords private, protect their device lock screen, and report suspicious account activity to their school administrator promptly.
6. Your Choices and Rights
You may request access, correction, restriction, or deletion of your personal information through your school administrator. If your account belongs to a school, the school may need to verify the request and determine whether certain records must be retained for academic, fee, safety, legal, or administrative reasons.

7. Children's Data
EduNest is intended for school use and may include student information entered or managed by schools and authorized staff. Parents or guardians should contact their school to review, correct, or request deletion of student information where applicable.
8. Data Retention
Data is retained for as long as needed to provide school services, maintain academic and administrative records, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and support school operations. Retention periods may vary by school, record type, and applicable law.
