This Privacy Policy applies to the EduNest Driver app used by authorized school van drivers. The app connects drivers with the EduNest school transport system for assigned van, route, trip, and student transport workflows.
The school or institution manages driver accounts and transport records. The school may also have its own policies for employee, contractor, transport, and student safety records.
2. Data We Collect
Depending on the features enabled by the school, EduNest Driver may process:
- Driver account information such as name, phone number, login identifier, role, school name, and authentication session data.
- Assigned van and route information such as vehicle plate number, route name, assigned students, trip state, and dashboard status.
- Location information such as latitude, longitude, timestamp, and online or offline tracking status.
- Device and technical data such as app settings, saved login state, API requests, errors, and notification permission status.
3. Location Data
EduNest Driver uses location permission to send van location updates to the school transport system while tracking or trip features are active. Location may be used in the foreground and, where permitted by the device and school policy, in the background for active transport tracking.
4. How Data Is Used
EduNest Driver uses data to:
- Authenticate authorized drivers and load the assigned school transport dashboard.
- Start and end trips, mark driver availability, and update van tracking status.
- Show assigned van, route, students, and latest saved coordinates.
- Send van location updates to the EduNest backend for transport monitoring.
- Maintain service reliability, security, diagnostics, and support.
6. Security
The app uses authenticated API access and local app storage for session state. Users should keep their login details private, protect their device, and report any lost device or suspicious account activity to the school administrator immediately.
7. Choices and Controls
You can manage location permission from your device settings. If location permission is disabled, active van tracking and trip workflows may not work correctly.

8. Retention
Driver, trip, route, and location records may be retained by the school for transport operations, safety, attendance, audit, dispute resolution, legal compliance, and service reliability. Retention periods may vary by school policy and applicable law.
